Bedtime stories starring your child, made from their own day.

You read them aloud; your child does the thinking.

For parents of children aged 3 to 8.

Tonight's note
Riya fed the street dog half her biscuit and named it Pakoda.

Riya and the Biscuit Promise

4-minute read, ages 5 to 6

Riya unwrapped the biscuit and held it out. Pakoda waited, patient as a statue. Patient means she didn't push or snatch or hurry at all. She sniffed the biscuit. She sniffed Riya's fingers. Then she did something Riya did not expect. She took the biscuit gently in her mouth, the way you might carry an egg, and she did not eat it.

Pakoda walked three steps down the lane and looked back at Riya. She walked three more steps and looked back again. Her straight ear twitched.

How it works

Three steps, about five minutes, every night.

  1. Tell us about the day

Send a few lines or a voice note: what happened, who they met, what made them laugh.

    Your note
Meera watered Dadi’s tulsi plant this morning and splashed her new shoes.
  2. Get tonight's story

A three-to-five-minute story with your child as the hero, made from the day you described.

    Meera and the Thirsty Tulsi

    3-minute read, ages 3 to 4

Every morning, Dadi’s tulsi plant waited on the balcony. Today, Meera carried the little steel lota all by herself. Slosh, slosh, slosh went the water, right onto her new shoes.

  3. Read it together

Read it aloud and stop at its two questions. Let your child think, then tap how they answered.

Why we’re building it

Most AI products for children hand them answers. Twicetold uses AI the other way round: to give your child something to reason about.

And a parent reads every story, so a person is always in the loop. This matters beyond bedtime. Anthropic’s education report found university students handing AI their higher-order work: the analysing and creating, not just the looking up. We’d like children to grow up practising that thinking themselves.

How every story is checked

Our first eval run, on 200 practice notes, will be published before launch, with every number, good or bad.

Read the full method and results

Twicetold is built on dialogic reading, a well-studied way of reading aloud where the adult asks questions and builds on the child’s answers. Before a story reaches you, a separate model checks each question against four rules:

  1. It needs reasoning, not just remembering.
  2. A child of that age can answer it.
  3. It’s open-ended, with no yes-or-no answer.
  4. The text just before it doesn’t give the answer away.

Separate safety checks screen your note before writing and the story after it. Nothing frightening, no real brands, nothing a child could copy unsafely.

Our privacy promise

  • No accounts for children. Your child never logs in or types anything.
  • We ask for your child's first name or nickname and age. Nothing more: no photos, no surname, no school.
  • Delete a child's profile or your whole account at any time.
  • No ads and no trackers.

Why I started Twicetold

Anand MohanFounder, and a father reading at bedtime

I'm the father of a two-year-old. Every night, I weave the small things from her day into a bedtime story, and it has made her curious about everything. Sometimes she stops me to correct a detail, then tells her own version, and that has become our favourite game.

Along the way, those stories taught her letters, colours, and counting. I'm building Twicetold so other parents can do the same: bring one thing that happened today, and leave with a story worth remembering.
